- Sandwiches taste better when someone else makes them.
- I got mad at someone and forgot to eat today. That never happens when I'm at peace. Therefore, peace makes me fat.
- Having to wash dishes takes all the fun out of cooking at home.
- When I'm on a diet, I only want the foods I'm not allowed to have. What's up with that?
- The freezer is full. The pantry is full. Yet my teenagers can't find a thing to eat in this house.
- 'They' say not to grocery shop on an empty stomach because it's bad on the budget. Well, going grocery shopping when I'm full is bad for the budget, too. It makes me buy diet remedies and healthy food items that I'm only going to throw away once the guilt is gone.
I thought it's a shame that all my random thoughts and distractions aka 'shiny things' go to waste. So somewhat on a whim, a new blog was born. Welcome to my world. The channels are always changing in my head, so stay tuned.

Healthy 'Shiny Things'
Random thoughts about health
- I tried the 'Daniel Fast' a couple of years ago when my church promoted it. I quit after a week. I thought I'd die! Come to find out...I hate fruits and nuts, and I need caffeine to live. I knew I was in trouble when I ran to the refrigerator in the middle of the night and chugged a 2-liter Coke.
- I've never been diagnosed with ADD by a medical professional. But you know you're busted when every elementary teacher you know and every teen with ADD asks you how you cope with it.
- I took a detox bath yesterday. It lasted 20 minutes. I was supposed to relax and focus on my breathing. Hah! After three minutes of sitting still, I almost went batty!
- Water does not taste good, but I guilt myself into drinking it sometimes.
- I 'walked away the pounds' today with Leslie Sansone. I love her videos, but I hate to exercise. I distracted myself by dusting while I walked.
